Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963 to the musically inclined family of Newark New Jersey is the daughter of gospel star Cissy Houston as well as John Russell Houston Jr. Also, she is the sister of the singer Dionne Warwick. Her mother and she began singing professionally at New Hope Baptist Church of Newark in the year Whitney was just 15 years old. They performed the back vocals in Chaka Khans 1978 track Im Every Woman. Jermaine, her mother and Lou Rawls were some of those who she sang with. She was also briefly modeling for Seventeen Magazine in 1981. Her work as the vocalist featured in New York funk group Material caught the eye of major record labels, including Arista, with which she signed her contract in 1982, where she stayed the rest of her life with them. Tracks like the title track, The Most Beautiful Love of All, How Do I Know if You Give Good Love, and Save all My Love were all released off the album. These songs helped Houston to achieve 7 US top tens that surpassed even those of The Beatles. It was the initial US year, the album was sold over 3 million units. It went on to be listened to by more than millions of people around the world and earned her the first Grammy. The Whitney album of 1987, featuring the tracks I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to continue her popularity. But it is The Bodyguard of 1992 that made her one of the biggest-selling artists in history. The film and her part in it were not very well received, but the soundtrack and her rendition of the song by Dolly Parton I Will Always Love You charted for several months in the charts, and she sold nearly 44 million singles and albums worldwide. Also in 1993 when she got married Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition singer with whom she bore her only child Bobbi Kristina Brown. Around this time, her well-documented addiction to drugs began. By 1996, she used to use drugs every day.

Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchorwoman and reporter for the political section of CNN. Her programs on Saturdays are Evans & Novak Late Edition, Inside Politics and Inside Politics. Bash is a recipient of numerous awards and honors.
